Tetsu Sushi Bar presents an intimate dining experience in Vancouver's West End neighbourhood. Chef and owner Satoshi Makise opened Tetsu in 2017; here, we offer an unapologetically authentic Japanese cuisine menu focusing on premium Japanese ingredients and omakase.
NIGIRI SUSHI AND OMAKASE EXPERIENCES
Tetsu Sushi Bar focuses on sushi and omakase experiences, which celebrate the best of the season and highlight Japanese ingredients. The sushi is Edomae-style with a modern twist. While Tetsu’s omakase menu experiences showcase nigiri sushi.
Tetsu differs from other sushi restaurants with the addition of savoury appetizers spotlighting authentic Japanese flavours not commonly presented in the West.

Showcasing extreme dedication to his craft, Chef Satoshi is always in pursuit of perfecting his methods. His time in the kitchen is a balance of honouring tradition while perpetually experimenting and fine-tuning. Chef's relationships with Japanese fishermen ensure our diners receive the best quality and unique surprises throughout the year.
TESTU SUSHI BAR’S NAME
For generations, the character 哲 (Tetsu) has been carried in the names of Chef Satoshi's family. Hence the name of the restaurant.

Our restaurant has only 12 seats; we nurture a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere within this space. While we may only welcome a few guests each day, we find great joy in the dinner experiences created with you.
